3 Simple Ways to Support Your Brain Health Starting Today

 

Your brain is your body's command center, orchestrating everything from your morning thoughts to your evening wind-down routine. Yet in our fast-paced world, brain health often takes a backseat until we notice memory lapses or brain fog creeping in.

Second, nourish your brain with healthy fats and antioxidant-rich foods. Your brain is nearly 60 percent fat, making quality fats essential for optimal cognitive function. Wild-caught fatty fish, walnuts, avocados, and extra virgin olive oil provide the omega-3 fatty acids your brain craves. Pair these with colorful vegetables and berries packed with antioxidants that protect your brain cells from oxidative stress. Think of each meal as an opportunity to feed your brain the premium fuel it deserves.

Move Your Body Regularly

Third, move your body to move your mind. Exercise increases blood flow to your brain, delivering fresh oxygen and nutrients while stimulating the production of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF)—a protein that acts like fertilizer for your brain cells. You don't need intense workouts to reap these benefits. A brisk 20-minute walk, a gentle yoga session, or dancing in your kitchen all count. The key is consistency and finding movement you genuinely enjoy.
